The Crib

This is the crib I built for my daughter Olivia. I built it from a set of plans I got from a woodworkers catalog. It wasn't a kit though. It turned out to be a lot harder than I expected, but was well worth the effort. I learned a lot about woodworking, and about the the basic nature of crafting something by hand.

When you build something yourself, no one else will ever be able to see all of the mistakes and all of the greatness of your work like you can.

The Fence

This is a fence that I built around my concrete steps leading to the basement. When we are out in the yard Olivia likes to go over to the steps and play on the edge. Hopefully this will keep her out of trouble.
